Maison Guillemette shows its collections in major stores in Tokyo and Paris

Maison Guillemette is taking its first steps into the international market. The Parisian brand, founded in 2014 by Guillemette Bataille, known for its Made in Paris production, is expanding its distribution by testing wholesale in Japan and France with its festive wardrobe and its “White Collection” dedicated to brides.

Maison Guillemette offers a service to transform its airy dresses into delicate tops.

The brand, which has its historic boutique located at 34 Rue de la Victoire in Paris and recently opened a second boutique in the Marais district at 22 Rue de Picardie, is now venturing into wholesale.

Starting in December, Maison Guillemette will sell its vibrant outfits and its Spring-Summer 2024 collection in the Iena department stores of the Baycrews group in Tokyo. The brand is also looking into expanding in the United States, Germany, Belgium, and has future plans of opening pop-up shops in France.

Currently, exports account for 10% of the company’s revenue. Maison Guillemette sells its pieces internationally through its e-shop, which delivers to Belgium, Germany, and the United States.

A part of the ready-to-wear line, as well as the entire White Collection, is manufactured in Montreuil, a suburb of Paris. About a third of the company’s employees work in this atelier.

Aside from wedding attire, Maison Guillemette’s White Collection, which consists of 80 romantic models, represents 20% of its revenue. The collection offers couture silhouettes at reasonable prices and is not limited to just brides.

This year, Maison Guillemette began offering an upcycling service called “Reinvent Your Dresses,” intended to transform pieces into delicate blouses for a fee. This concept is garnering attention and is seen as a selling point in boutiques.

The brand has also teamed up with the Parisian cashmere label Hircus for a collaboration of soft and sustainable socks, with all the profits going to the Sparadrap association, which supports children hospitalized during treatments.

Maison Guillemette is aiming for a 20% growth this year and is setting its sights on a 30% increase in 2024. By 2025, the brand plans to open a third boutique in Paris and is looking into potential expansion in Bordeaux.
