Lok Leipzig’s Fight for Derby Probation: The Unexpected Battle

That came as a surprise: How Lok Leipzig fights for derby probation

Preparing for the Derby: FC Lok’s Security Consultation

The quarterfinals of the cup on Saturday in Grimma are still pending for FC Lok, but the derby against Chemie Leipzig is almost here. To ensure that the game is safe for everyone, the police and regulatory office held another security consultation on Tuesday for both clubs.

One thing is clear: Lok will use the guest contingent of 500 tickets again – and hopes that the blue and yellow supporters will be reasonable. After the riots in May 2022, the club is still under probation until June 30th, with the threat of a ghost derby in Probstheida. To prevent this from happening, tickets will only be available for members and fan clubs.

In an appeal, FC Lok expressed their concern over the fines they had to pay last season, which amounted to over €30,000. This game year it’s already €9,439 again. They stated, “It can’t go on like this! We appeal to all fans of the club to distance themselves from such actions!”

The club installed a mobile video system in a problem block of the dam seat in the Plache stadium to identify any chaotic individuals who ignite pyro again and again. At the end of the season, the entire stadium will also be under video surveillance – another requirement for suitability for the third division.
