Dutch television host Linda de Mol has filed a complaint against her ex-boyfriend Jeroen Rietbergen for allegedly sabotaging her career after their breakup. The couple had been in a relationship for 15 years and had two children together before they separated in 2007.
De Mol claims that Rietbergen, who is a musician and composer, intentionally made her job difficult by failing to show up to scheduled recording sessions, providing inadequate music for her shows and even going as far as to undermine her to other professionals in the industry.
In a statement to Dutch newspaper AD, De Mol said, “I have remained silent about this for too long. I have tried to solve this in a civilized manner, but I have come to the conclusion that he is not willing to participate in finding a solution.”
She went on to explain that the situation has caused her significant stress and anxiety, stating, “It has been a tough road for me to get to this point where I am willing to take legal action. But I can no longer live with the stress and uncertainty that his actions have caused me.”
De Mol is a well-known figure in the entertainment industry in the Netherlands, having hosted several popular television shows and even starting her own successful magazine. She has been vocal about her struggles with weight and body image, and has used her platform to raise awareness about body positivity and self-acceptance.
