Knife attack in front of a high school in Paris: 4 suspects apprehended

Four individuals have been arrested in connection with the investigation into the knife attack on a 15-year-old boy on January 25. The attack took place as he was leaving Martin-Nadaud high school (XXe). The Paris public prosecutor’s office has confirmed that “4 minors have been in custody since the morning of January 31 for attempted murder, following the brawl that took place in front of the high school.”

On that day, the victim was attacked as he was leaving school at around 4:30 pm. The teenager was about 200 meters away from the school when he was attacked by several individuals wearing masks. One of them had a Opinel knife and managed to injure the young man’s right forearm and right leg.

“The young man ran to take refuge in his high school, where he received first aid. I was able to speak with a direct witness who told me that the main assailant, unlike his accomplices, was not wearing a mask,” a source present at the scene at the time of the aid said the day after the incident.

The young man was quickly transferred to Robert Debré Hospital (XIXe), where his life was not in danger, and he was released two days after the attack. According to his initial statements, the teenagers responsible for his attack are from the XIXe arrondissement of Paris, just like him.
