Jimmy Fallon mocks Emmanuel Macron and the bedbug infestation in Paris

American comedian Jimmy Fallon once again disguised himself as Emmanuel Macron to mock France. And this time, it’s about bed bugs.

With a beret on his head, a baguette and a glass of wine in his hand, comedian Jimmy Fallon transformed into a true “Parisian” for the return of the “Tonight Show,” his show that combines humor and talk show. And for this first episode after five months of hiatus due to the Hollywood writers’ and actors’ strike, the American host mocked the bed bug invasion that is currently alarming Paris by singing a song.

In the video posted on X (formerly Twitter), we hear the host singing, “There are insects in Paris that are bigger than fleas and cause itching. They can be in your sheets, so check thoroughly underneath and if I were you, I wouldn’t rent an Airbnb anymore.”

Parodying Emmanuel Macron, he continues his little story, saying, “The insects can crawl anywhere, even in chest hair, so clean them with a spray of Febreze.”

Paris, the laughingstock of Anglo-Saxon countries

The sketch ends with references to Paris Fashion Week, which ended on Tuesday, October 3rd. “It’s Fashion Week, Louis V and Gucci, full of celebrities, Chalamet Timothée. He’s dating Kylie and playing Willy Wonka. I love his films on IMDb. But the bed bugs OMG, they’re really disgusting, they’re everywhere, just like Swift and Kelce.”

Jimmy Fallon thus refers to the couple formed by Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet, as well as the rumored relationship between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.

For several days now, several Anglo-Saxon media outlets such as the “New York Post,” “People,” “CBS News,” “CNN,” and “The Guardian” have picked up on the issue of bed bug proliferation in Paris. They all express their concern ten months before the Olympic Games, because as “CBS News” points out, bed bugs are not just a matter of hygiene, but also of tourism.
