Jaguar E-Pace P300e: DC Charger Equipped Plug-In Hybrid Test Drive

Test Jaguar E-Pace P300e: plug-in hybrid with DC charger

The Jaguar E-Pace P300e has been put to the test and it comes with a plug-in hybrid and DC charger. However, there is plenty of competition in the popular 4.4 meter SUV class, and there is hardly a manufacturer that is not represented in this segment.

The E-Pace P300e is among a certain selection of plug-in hybrids available in the competitive SUV market. Jaguar, positioning itself as a premium brand, made its price point clear, offering the car for €61,300.

Jaguar went for a comparatively complex drive by installing the combustion engine at the front while positioning the electric motor at the rear axle. This enabled the electric motor to bypass the gearbox, boosting efficiency and comfort.

Moreover, the plug-in hybrid E-Pace P300e tests show that power consumption is plentiful, and the car can get grumpy and thirsty when pushed hard. Single-phase charging can take anywhere from 9.5 to 14 hours on a 10-amp charger, while charging at AC can be costly.

However, so far, the E-Pace P300e has not disappointed in terms of its impressive charging capacity. The car’s electric range is 50 kilometers on a single charge and with a combined power output of 309 hp, it has plenty of oomph.

In terms of the car’s features and accessories, the car comes with leather seats as standard while the “Winter Package” was also ticked when ordering the test car. However, a seat heater still has to be selected separately.

Despite the minor pitfalls of ordering specific options, the Jaguar E-Pace P300e is still an impressive car with a relatively unique drive system, and Jaguar fans should be pleased with its performance.
