Is Messi returning to Paris this summer?

The coach of the Argentine U20 team, Javier Mascherano, stated that he would like to select Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria for the 2024 Olympics.

Lionel Messi, who won the Olympic championship in 2008, the Copa America in 2021 and the World Cup in 2022, has achieved everything possible with the Argentine national team, making history since the World Cup victory in Qatar.

This summer, the former Parisian could have the opportunity to further enhance his legend with the Albiceleste. While he is expected to be part of the team that will travel to the United States for the Copa America in July, he could also participate in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

In an interview with TyC Sports, the coach of the U20 team, Javier Mascherano, indicated that he would like to have the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner, as well as Angel Di Maria, who has shared all the joys and sorrows with Messi in the national team and has also scored in the three finals won. “If we qualify, it would clearly be a pride for us to have two world champions and this type of player. There are players who deserve to decide certain things. And clearly, Leo (Messi) and Angel (Di Maria) are part of it,” explained the former Barcelona player. The two former PSG players could therefore make their return to the French capital.
