iOS 16.4: Bug Fix Update on the Horizon

iOS 16.4 bug fix update coming soon

Apple is reportedly set to release iOS 16.4.1, following the discovery of bugs in iOS 16.4, which only came out at the end of March. It is unknown why the bugs were not detected during the beta phase. One of the issues concerns WLAN support, with some users losing access to the local router due to the operating system forgetting access data. Another bug seems to have affected the iOS weather app, although this is more likely to have been a server problem. It is unclear what other fixes will come with iOS 16.4.1.

Despite iOS 16.4’s new features, such as support for Progressive Web Apps and voice isolation for phone calls, the bugs mean iOS 16.4.1 will soon be rolling out. The bugs were reported across various platforms, including Twitter.

Meanwhile, Apple is testing iOS 16.5, with new features including screen recording via Siri. Apple recently invited developers to attend this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference on 5 June, where it will showcase iOS 17 alongside other new operating systems. Apple has promised significant updates to the surface of its Apple Watch computer clock with watchOS 10, but little innovation is expected for other operating systems this year.
