Introducing Innovative Subscription Service for VR Headset Quest

Meta: New subscription service for VR headset Quest

Meta, the parent company of Facebook, is venturing into the game subscription business with its latest offering called Meta Quest+. CEO Mark Zuckerberg made the announcement, stating that the service will provide users with access to the “best titles on the platform.” The subscription is now available for the Quest 2 and Quest Pro VR headsets, with a monthly cost of $7.99 or an annual cost of $59.99. This information comes from a report by tech blog Engadget.

According to the report, Meta has plans to extend the subscription system to the upcoming Quest 3 headset, set to be launched in the fall. The company has also revealed a limited-time offer for those who sign up for Meta Quest+ by the end of July. They will only have to pay $1 for the first month, as mentioned in Meta’s announcement on Monday.

Subscribers to Meta Quest+ will have access to two selected VR titles on the first day of each month. Engadget states that the initial titles included in the subscription are the popular first-person shooter game Pistol Whip and the nostalgic Pixel Ripped 1995. The August lineup will feature Walkabout Mini Golf and Mothergunship: Forge. It is worth noting that access to the games is available throughout the membership period. If a user cancels their Meta Quest+ subscription and later re-enrolls, they will regain access to the games from their original membership period.

Meta has been increasingly focused on subscription models recently. Aside from Meta Quest+, the company also launched Meta Verified earlier this year. This verification service is available for Facebook and Instagram accounts, and it provides users with a blue badge to indicate their verification status. Additionally, the service offers direct access to customer support and protection against copycat profiles.

In conclusion, Meta’s entry into the game subscription business with its Meta Quest+ service aims to provide users with access to top VR titles. The subscription is initially available for the Quest 2 and Quest Pro headsets, with plans to expand to the upcoming Quest 3. It offers two VR titles per month, with a discounted first month for early subscribers. Meta has also launched Meta Verified for account verification and support across Facebook and Instagram.
