This Wednesday, PSG will face Real Sociedad in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16. An important first act for the club from the capital, especially as the PSG players will have to rely on the support of the Parc des Princes. In addition to the match, the Parisian club has given a voice to former PSG players, including Bernard Mendy. The former PSG defender believes that the support of the public will be essential.
Second in their group behind Borussia Dortmund, PSG could have faced a tough team in the Champions League round of 16. Fortunately for the Parisian club, the draw pits them against Real Sociedad. If, on paper, the advantage is with PSG, everyone knows how surprises are possible. Caution is advised.

In an interview with PSG’s media, former right-back Bernard Mendy discusses the upcoming match against Real Sociedad: “If PSG is in good shape and they want to win this match, they will win it. On paper, it’s manageable but on the field, it’s a different story. The main thing is to play to our strengths.”
“PSG can only be transcended in this confrontation”
“When you play at home, with the 12th man, not just the Ultras who have been extraordinary since the beginning of the season, but when you have a whole stadium pushing, PSG can only be transcended in this confrontation,” promises Bernard Mendy. “When you’re here, you transcend yourself. The Parc des Princes is a family, the twelfth man, a family member who is there to defend its territory. It’s going to heat up for Sociedad.”
