From a stolen scooter to a deadly fight, how the war-like spiral between rival gangs led to the murder of Henry in Paris

Six years after the murder of this teenager, eight individuals are appearing before the juvenile assize court of Paris, starting from this Tuesday. The episode, marked by great violence, shed light on the clashes in the East of the capital, between young people from neighborhoods separated by a simple boulevard.

A passerby skillfully improvises a tourniquet around Henry’s leg, injured by a knife blow. He used the jacket of one of the young men, petrified by all the blood. “His head is smashed! He is breathing but cannot speak,” another resident alerts the firefighters. Two hours later, the 16-year-old teenager dies from hemorrhage at the Pitié Salpêtrière hospital.
