Former Tigres Player, Walter Gaitán Arrested for Reporting Assault on His Partner

Former UANL Tigres Player Arrested for Domestic Violence

Former UANL Tigres player Walter Gaitán was arrested on Wednesday night in Guadalupe, Monterrey for hitting his partner. The incident took place in Colonia Country La Silla and was reported via emergency 911. According to the municipal Public Security Secretariat, Gaitán was arrested at 7:45 pm.

Upon arriving at the home, the authorities identified the accused as Walter “N”, a 46-year-old Argentinian. The woman who requested his arrest reported that the former Tigres player had physically and verbally assaulted her.

Gaitán was subdued by the uniformed officers and transferred to the building of the Secretary of Public Security. The midfielder was made available to a Public Ministry Agency, while his partner filed a complaint with the Code for family violence.

This is not the first time that Gaitán has faced trouble with the law. Last January, he was caught on video in a Monterrey club in an inconvenient state, apparently asking for illicit substances.

Gaitán played for Tigres from 2002 to 2007 and is remembered by feline fans as a legend of the university team. However, this recent incident has marred his reputation and cast a shadow over his legacy.
