Fleury Defeats Paris FC in D1 Arkema

A week after their heavy defeat in Lyon (0-4), Fleury bounced back by defeating Paris FC (2-1) on Friday evening during the 18th round of D1 Arkema. The players coached by Fabrice Abriel were generally dominant and secured their victory thanks to a goal by Dominika Grabowska at the end of the first half. This was Grabowska’s fifth goal of the season after a great pressing effort in the 44th minute.

Fleury scored a second goal in the second half through Charlotte Fernandes (57th minute), although she appeared to have used her hand to control the ball. Towards the end of the game, Kessya Bussy scored a consolation goal for Paris FC (72nd minute) and Mariam Diakité was sent off after receiving a second yellow card (77th minute). Despite these events, Fleury managed to hold on to their lead.

This victory sees Fleury climb back to fourth place in the standings, level on points with Montpellier who will face PSG on Sunday evening (9pm), and two points ahead of Reims who play at Le Havre on Saturday (2:30pm). Paris FC, who had not lost in D1 since January 10th, remain in third place, 5 points behind PSG.
