First Sold-Out Match at Charléty for Paris FC against Saint-Étienne?

The match between Paris FC and Saint-Étienne, scheduled for Saturday at 3pm, is on track to make history for the second club of the capital. The decision to offer free tickets by the club’s management, along with the highly anticipated visit of Saint-Étienne to Paris, will allow the Charléty stadium to break its attendance record. With a capacity of 18,933 seats for Paris FC’s Ligue 2 matches this season, the sports venue in the 13th arrondissement of Paris had previously welcomed 13,472 spectators during the match against Girondins de Bordeaux on November 25 (1-2).

However, this high turnout did not break the attendance record of 14,653 spectators, set on May 21, 2019, when Paris FC played against RC Lens in the promotion playoff to Ligue 1 (1-1, 4-5 on penalties). This record is now set to be surpassed with 17,800 tickets already issued for Saturday’s match, with only 500 left to be sold to the general public.

Paris FC, currently ranked 12th in Ligue 2, typically attracts an average of 4,500 to 5,000 spectators for home matches. The buzz surrounding the match against Saint-Étienne has generated significant interest and is expected to draw a record crowd to the Charléty stadium.
