Final Cut Pro for iPad: A Glimpse into the Future of iOS 17’s Camera Capabilities?

Better Camera: Does Final Cut Pro for the iPad show how iOS 17 will continue?

Apple is set to release a new recording function in the iPad version of its Final Cut Pro app on May 23. This has led to speculation that a similar “Pro Camera Mode” could be developed for the iPhone in the future.
The new recording function allows users to take pictures directly from within the app which can then be used in the timeline. Some of the functionality included features that are not available with the standard camera app. These include manual controls for white balance, exposure and focus in both portrait and landscape modes, as well as various monitoring options such as remaining recording time, microphone levels and zebra and false color displays.
While it may seem strange that Apple would implement such features on a device not designed for filming, it is worth noting that the company has previously added professional functions to its iOS camera app. For example, iOS 15 includes support for ProRes video recording.
While no announcement regarding a connection between Final Cut Pro for iPad and iPhone has been made, experts have suggested such a feature could be included in the next version of iOS, which is set to be unveiled at the WWDC developer conference in June.
Final Cut Pro and Logic are available for iPad as part of a subscription package, which costs €50 ($61) per year or €5 per month.
