Fashion ignites with Rick Owens, Gauchère, Rabanne, and Isabel Marant

The Paris Women’s Fashion Week unveiled interesting collections for the autumn-winter 2024/25 season. Rick Owens presented a captivating show, Gauchere showcased an elegant and minimalist collection, Rabanne energized the audience, and Isabel Marant’s show was equally exciting.

Rick Owens’ collection featured heroines from a distant planet, dressed in long hooded capes and heavy blankets, giving them a biblical appearance. The collection exuded a sense of protection with cozy wool, alpaca, and recycled cashmere garments, as well as hoods, gloves, and rubber boots. The knitwear collection included bodysuits, mermaid dresses, ponchos, tunics, and hooded knit dresses.

Gauchere’s collection maintained a minimal and graphic style with a soft touch, combining tailoring with casual, masculine with feminine elements. Different fabrics such as thick wool, flannel, leather, and sheer jersey were featured in the collection. Leather played a prominent role, with shiny faux leather garments and soft leather pieces. Accessories included leather bags and high boots reminiscent of ski pants.

Rabanne took a radical style turn with a mix of styles, patterns, fabrics, and colors. Models walked to a lively disco soundtrack in mix & match outfits, combining various prints and textures. The collection offered the opportunity to deconstruct and recreate looks by playing with different combinations. Pieces ranged from basic garments to sparkling ones, like lurex shirts paired with velvet pants or metallic jackets over sheer dresses.

Isabel Marant’s collection had a western-bohemian vibe, with urban Amazons wearing leather and fringe outfits. The collection featured fringed shawls, leopard print tights, and metallic details. The color palette included earthy tones, dark shades, khaki, and vibrant red. Leather was a key material, alongside suede jackets with long fringes, shearling vests, reptile-effect pants, and leather dresses.

Overall, the Paris Women’s Fashion Week showcased a variety of styles and themes, from protective and cozy designs to bold and vibrant creations. Each designer brought their unique vision to the runway, offering a glimpse of the trends to come for the autumn-winter 2024/25 season.
