Bad news is coming for supporters of Olympique de Marseille. On September 24, the first Classique of the 2023-2024 season will take place between the Marseille club and Paris Saint-Germain, counting for the 6th matchday of Ligue 1. And like in previous years, Olympique fans will be deprived of traveling to Parc des Princes.
Indeed, the Ministry of the Interior will publish a decree prohibiting Marseille fans from going to the French capital. Besides the security aspect and the history between the two French clubs, this decision comes in a context where law enforcement forces are predominantly mobilized to facilitate the smooth running of the Rugby World Cup. It is worth noting that Parisian supporters will also be affected by this travel ban on the occasion of the return match at the Vélodrome in 2024.
