Facing Harsh Criticism, Paris City Hall Reveals Cost of Anne Hidalgo’s Trip to Tahiti

The mayor of Paris visited the site of the surfing events for the 2024 Olympic Games in French Polynesia before heading to New Caledonia. In a statement released on Monday, November 6th, the city hall indicated that the trip cost 59,500€.

This trip has raised many questions. After visiting New Caledonia and French Polynesia from October 16th to 21st, the mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, felt the need to explain herself to the people of Paris. In a press release published on Monday, November 6th, the city hall of Paris revealed the cost of the trip: 59,500€.

“The cost of transportation for the entire delegation of three elected officials and the three accompanying staff members amounted to a total of 40,955 euros. The accommodation and dining expenses amounted to 18,545 euros,” the city hall stated.

Just as a reminder, the mayor of Paris visited the site of the surfing events for the 2024 Olympic Games in French Polynesia before heading to New Caledonia.
