Eintracht Suffers from Lack of Leadership, says Marc Schmidt

Comment from Marc Schmidt: Eintracht lacks leadership!

Breathless through the night,” sings Schlager star Helene Fischer. The lyrics could also describe the current state of Eintracht Frankfurt, a team that has been sliding since the beginning of 2023. What’s happening at the top of the Frankfurt Bundesliga team is dividing fans and the club, VIPs and AG.

There is a fear that coach Glasner will leave Frankfurt in the summer because all leadership is dwindling at the top of the club. He is omitted as an important cement between the club and the AG and as a contact for the hardcore fans.

In Naples, it was possible to see where this could lead. For example, Axel Hellmann, Frankfurt’s board spokesman, is a top candidate as the new DFL boss. Hellmann struggles with himself. On the one hand, he is attached to Eintracht, but on the other hand, the relationship of trust with his boss Holzer is disturbed.

Hellmann is more concerned with himself than with the future of Glasner, the most important employee. It’s unclear why Holzer doesn’t hit the table publicly. For example, it would be possible to call for a fee for Hellmann and put a stop to the DFL change.

Problems like this are usually transferred to the pitch. Frankfurt is no longer stable because Eintracht lacks leadership. The club must take action to ensure they don’t suffer on the pitch.

To prevent this from happening, Eintracht Frankfurt needs decisive leadership that can guide the club to success. It’s time to put the club’s interests first and put an end to the internal struggles. Fans, VIPs and the AG all want a strong and successful team, but that can only happen with strong leadership.

Let’s hope Eintracht Frankfurt can find its way through the night and back to the top of the Bundesliga.
