Eiffel Tower to be illuminated in solidarity with the victims on Sunday evening

The mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, wishes to show her support for the “Israeli victims following the attacks carried out by Hamas”. The Eiffel Tower will be turned off from 11pm this Sunday evening.

“In solidarity with the Israeli victims.” A few hours after the rocket attacks that hit Israel from the Gaza Strip on Saturday, the Paris City Hall is showing its support for the numerous victims. The mayor of the city, Anne Hidalgo, announced that the Eiffel Tower will be turned off this Sunday evening from 11pm.

“Sunday evening, I have decided that the Eiffel Tower will be turned off at 11pm in solidarity with the Israeli victims following the attacks carried out by Hamas,” she wrote on X (formerly Twitter), this Saturday evening.

Emergency meeting of the UN Security Council

The military wing of Hamas coordinated rocket attacks and incursions into Israeli territory this Saturday. An attack on the eve of the 50th anniversary of the Yom Kippur War, named after the Jewish religious holiday.

According to the Magen David Adom, the Israeli equivalent of the Red Cross, Israel mourns over 200 deaths and 1,100 injured as a result of Hamas’s terrorist attacks.

An emergency meeting of the UN Security Council is scheduled for this Sunday.
