Discover the world of design in Paris

The Maison&Objet 2024 professional trade show, which takes place in Villepinte (Seine-Saint-Denis) from Thursday, January 18 to Monday, January 22, will mark the opening of boutiques and galleries dedicated to the art of living and decoration. These locations will open their doors to the public in Paris, highlighting their spring innovations. Here are three remarkable rendezvous that will last longer than the trade show.

Tom Dixon and his generous seating at Silvera

The return of the British designer to the capital marks his first collaboration with the French furniture design distributor, Silvera. Dixon, who was once the head of creative design at Habitat in Paris, is showcasing the latest innovations of the brand he founded in 2002. This includes new portable lamps equipped with the latest LED technology. Additionally, his collection of Fat seating, upholstered in sensorial and soft boucle wool fabric from Danish textile manufacturer Kvadrat, will be on display at the showroom.

Silvera Bac, 43 Rue du Bac, Paris 7th. Starting Thursday, January 18.

Elizabeth Garouste’s Escapades at Ketabi Bourdet

The gallery of art and design in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, founded in 2020 by Charlotte Ketabi and Paul Bourdet, is hosting an exhibition this month of designer and visual artist Elizabeth Garouste’s creations. The show, titled “Escapades,” features a variety of unique pieces, including drawings, gouaches, lamps, a chair and armchair, two mirrors, a table, and a rug. Garouste’s work spans from plaster to wrought iron or resin, as seen in a unique wooden wardrobe with resin doors sculpted with two mermaids.
