Jean-Martial Ribes, the head of PSG’s digital department, has been placed under formal investigation in Paris as part of a probe into a “digital army” created by the football club. The investigation, which is being conducted by the Paris public prosecutor’s office, is looking into whether PSG used fake social media accounts to spread news of alleged sex offences in an effort to manipulate public opinion. Ribes has denied any wrongdoing and has stated that he has full confidence in the legal process. PSG has also stated that it is cooperating fully with the authorities in the investigation.
