Death of Louna, 2 months old, in Paris: Seven years of prison requested for the father, acquittal demanded for the grandfather

“If it’s not one, it’s the other.” The clock reads over 9:20 PM in the Voltaire room, at the former courthouse of Paris (4th), and for the attorney general Annabelle Philippe, this “other”, responsible for the death of little Louna seven years ago in Paris (20th), is her father.

Since Monday, Sébastien D., 35 years old, and Didier D., 62 years old, the grandfather, are being judged for voluntary violence leading to the death, without intent, of this two-month-old baby, in the small HLM apartment where they all lived at the time. Louna died from shaken baby syndrome, with an additional 9 cm skull fracture ruling out any accidental theories.
