data2day 2023: 10 years of know-how and best practices for data teams

The tenth edition of the conference for data scientists, data engineers, and data teams will take place on October 11th and 12th, 2023 – again at the IHK Karlsruhe.

Since its premiere in 2014, data2day, organized by heise Developer, iX, and dpunkt.verlag, has provided relevant, practical knowledge to master all challenges relating to data science, data engineering, and data analytics.

Interested parties can now register for the conference at the early bird price until August 23rd.

Know-how for data scientists, data engineers, and data teams

No matter where data scientists, data teams, or companies are on the journey to becoming a data-driven company, experienced experts will present the most important data skills and tools in over 30 lectures and workshops, as well as best practices that provide companies with valuable assistance in planning, implementing, and organizing data projects.

Field reports provide insights from the practical implementation of data science and machine learning projects.

Raising data treasures with the data mesh

One thematic focus this year is on the data mesh – a decentralized data architecture approach which, among other things, is intended to enable developers to independently carry out cross-domain data analyses in order to raise valuable data treasures.

Zhamak Dehghani, Director of Technology at Thoughtworks, is considered the founder of the data mesh concept. In his keynote speech, your colleague Syed Atif Akhtar will give a detailed insight into the practical implementation of data mesh and also venture an outlook on the future development of the paradigm.

In further lectures, Nikolas Herrmann, Sebastian Herold, and Jochen Christ, among others, will address various important aspects of the data mesh – from the advantages of domain ownership to metadata automation and governance. Finally, Hannes Rollin discusses six reasons why data mesh can fail.
