Darmstadt Triumphs 2-0 Over Lautern in Second League with Celebratory Mama Clippers

2nd league: 2:0 against Lautern! Darmstadt celebrates "Mama" clippers

Darmstadt FC is back on track for promotion following their recent 2-0 victory against Lautern. After three games without a win, the team was able to secure their 15th victory of the season, with 17,800 fans cheering them on at the Bollenfalltor Fortress.

The Lilien have not lost a home game in over 11 months and remain unbeaten in 15 home games, including a 2-1 cup win against Gladbach. Their last home defeat was 335 days ago against Schalke.

The team’s new winter signing, 23-year-old goalkeeper Filip Stojilkovic, proved to be a valuable addition to the team, scoring two goals within seven minutes. His header, which was deflected by Lauterns Zuck, made it 1-0 in the 36th minute. Stojilkovic then scored again in the 43rd minute with a dream pass from his strike partner, Tietz.

Stojilkovic, who came from FC Sion during the winter transfer period, even turned down a loan offer from Italian team Juventus Turin to join Darmstadt. He is the second most expensive transfer in the club’s history, costing almost 2 million euros.

In this game, Lautern lost their 200th away game in the 2nd division, and FCK coach Dirk Schuster had to accept his sixth defeat of the season at his former club, which he led to the 1st division in 2015.

Victories like this one show that Darmstadt FC is a force to be reckoned with and that they are fully back on course for promotion.
