Closure of A20 in both directions in northern Lot affects Toulouse-Paris motorway

The A20 motorway is closed on Tuesday, January 2 in the northern part of Lot, due to an accident that occurred this morning around 5:30 am near Cuzance, in the Rocamadour area. In the direction of Paris-Toulouse, a truck caught fire and a car was unable to avoid it. The prefecture indicates that the road is cut in both directions until further notice.

The truck is lying on the central reservation. Mandatory exits at exit 53 of Nespoul towards Toulouse, and at exit 55 of Souillac towards Brive. Upstream of the accident, evacuation operations are underway through a service gate, priority to light vehicles. A crane is on site to move the heavy truck.

Motorists heading towards Toulouse can rejoin the motorway at Souillac. In the direction of Paris, Vinci Autoroutes warns that a gantry damaged by the impact may be in danger of collapsing.
