Burglary Attempt at Anne-Sophie Lapix’s Townhouse in Paris, Five People Arrested

Five people were arrested on the night of Saturday to Sunday as they tried to burglarize the private mansion of journalist Anne-Sophie Lapix in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. They were placed in custody. The first district of the judicial police (DPJ) and the Repression of Banditry Brigade (BRB) have been notified.

On Tuesday, the star presenter of France Télévision alerted the police after she caught a man trying to force the front door of her private mansion with a crowbar. The police then decided to be extra vigilant in this area. It was in the night from Saturday to Sunday that the police from the anti-crime brigade of the 16th arrondissement spotted a suspicious vehicle, in which five men seemed to be looking for their way. They then parked near Anne-Sophie Lapix’s residence.

The suspects got out of their SUV with their faces concealed behind hoods and scarves. They then allegedly climbed the entrance gate of the private mansion before crouching in the garden to avoid being seen. The journalist’s son, alerted by a suspicious noise, immediately started filming the alleged burglars with his phone. Surprised, the five men fled immediately. They were apprehended by the police a little over two kilometers away.
