At least four-hour delay for the Paris-Nevers-Clermont train, stuck near Montargis

The arrival of the Paris-Clermont-Ferrand train was scheduled for 10:31 pm on Friday, January 19, but the passengers will not reach the capital’s station in Auvergne until 2:30 am.

New delay on the Paris-Nevers-Clermont line. The Intercity 5983 departing from Paris-Bercy just before 7 pm will not be on time. It is at least four hours late.

The fault lies with a material failure that has stalled the train just after Montargis. Initially set at two hours, the delay is expected to reach at least four hours. SNCF says “repairs are in progress.”

Meanwhile, the evening looks long for the passengers. Those who need to reach Nevers will not arrive until 1 am instead of 9 pm.

And the train terminus at Clermont-Ferrand, not before 2:30 am. “No more locomotive, no light soon (as we have just been told), soon no more radio communication (the conductor will inform us in person), no more electricity, no more heating, no more flushing toilets, and no more battery on my phone,” lists a resident of Clermont-Ferrand, stuck on the Intercity. It’s not Paris-Clermont, it’s Koh Lanta.
