ASSE in Paris to Earn Points

After three weeks off, the players of AS Saint-Étienne are back on the pitch and in the D1 Arkema championship, this Saturday with a trip to the capital to face Paris Saint-Germain.

This is already the third encounter of the season between the two teams. In the first leg, the players of ASSE were defeated by the smallest of margins (0-1). In the French Cup, again on the field of the Parisians, the Green ones once again narrowly lost (2-1). For this third match of the season, the Stéphanoises advance without complex with the desire to bring back something from Paris, as the top scorer and assist provider of ASSE, Cindy Caputo, revealed in Maillot Vert before the Saturday match between Saint-Étienne and Auxerre.

“The PSG is a very athletic team at all positions but their attack is their strong point. They have very good players like Marie-Antoinette Katoto and Tabitha Chawinga. They have a compact block, it’s a difficult team to face. It’s a match we approach without pressure. We know that such a team is designed to compete at the top of our championship. We don’t have the same objectives, so it’s a match that we can consider as a bonus. But fundamentally, it doesn’t change anything, we will go to Paris with the desire to get points and deliver a good performance.”

Elected man of the match by the broadcaster yesterday afternoon, the Stéphanois goalkeeper spoke after #ASSEAJA 👇 #ASSE https://t.co/et64IVJfES— Envertetcontretous (@Site_Evect) March 11, 2024
