Apple’s Anticipated Offerings at WWDC: Headset, Macs and More

Headset, Macs and more: What we expect from Apple at WWDC

Apple’s annual WWDC developer conference is set to begin on June 5th, and many are eagerly awaiting the event. The conference’s keynote speech is typically the highlight of the event, and this year’s promises to be particularly exciting. Rumor has it that Apple will officially unveil its first mixed reality headset, the “Reality Pro,” which has been in development since 2015.

The Reality Pro is expected to cost at least $3000 and boast superior technical specs to its competitors. However, it remains to be seen how many units Apple will actually be able to sell, given the high price tag and the complexity of the device’s hardware and software.

In addition to the Reality Pro, there are also rumors of new hardware for portable Macs. The MacBook Air is expected to be updated with a new form factor and a 15-inch screen, while a new Mac Studio is also anticipated. There may also be updates to the 13-inch MacBook Air and the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar.

While WWDC is primarily a software event, all of Apple’s operating systems are expected to be updated. iOS 17 may feature a smart lock screen, an AI speech generator, and improvements to the health app and control center. watchOS 10 could undergo a major overhaul, including the resurrection of widgets. iPadOS 17 is expected to inherit more features from iOS and improve window management, while macOS 14 has remained relatively quiet.

Mac & i will be providing live coverage of the WWDC keynote, which is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Central European Time on June 5th.
