Apple Unveils Stunning New Mac Pro with M2 Ultra Processor at WWDC

Surprise at WWDC: Apple's new Mac Pro with M2 Ultra processor

Apple’s new Mac Pro has been long awaited and is the first expandable Mac with Apple Silicon. Externally, the Mac Pro has stayed true to its conspicuous perforated tower case design, with the option of a horizontal form for rack installation. However, internally, the Mac Pro is very similar to the Mac Studio, which was also presented at the same time. The new Mac Pro can be equipped with the new M2 Ultra, consisting of two M2 Max processors connected via a die-level interposer.

The new Mac Pro boasts twice as much of everything as the M2 Max. It can hold up to 24 CPU cores (16x high-performance, 8x high-efficiency), up to 76 GPU cores, and up to 192 GB of RAM with a bandwidth of up to 800 GB/s. Unlike the Mac Studio, the Mac Pro has seven expansion slots, six of which are open and PCIe 4.0. Additionally, the Mac Pro has two HDMI 2.1 sockets and 8 Thunderbolt 4 ports, along with 2 10 Gbit Ethernet ports, Bluetooth 5.3, and Wi-Fi 6E at 6 GHz.

The tower version of the Mac Pro starts at 8300 euros, while the rack housing version is priced at 9000 euros. The Mac Pro is available for ordering, with scheduled delivery starting on June 13th. Apple offers the Mac Pro with 60 GPU cores as standard, but it can be configured with up to 76 GPU cores, while the base model comes with 64 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD.

Overall, Apple’s new Mac Pro is a powerful upgrade that looks to impress with its expandability and Apple Silicon technology.
