Antiterrorism: Extended 48-hour detention in Paris for two independent activists

Two independence activists belonging to the Nazione movement were arrested on the morning of Tuesday, January 30th. They were transferred to Paris on Tuesday afternoon as part of a judicial investigation into acts classified as “terrorist conspiracy, manufacturing of explosive devices in connection with a terrorist enterprise, and dangerous destruction in connection with a terrorist enterprise,” according to a source close to the case.

The ongoing investigation may be related to an attack carried out in Cap Corse, in Santa-Maria-di-Lota in November 2022, targeting a second home.

A support rally was organized on Tuesday evening outside the Bastia police station at the request of Nazione. In a case like this, police custody can last up to 96 hours.
