After Charles III’s visit to Paris, Anne Hidalgo’s promises about the flower market

The Paris City Hall has recently shown an awkward interest in the flower market, which has been a green oasis nestled among administrative buildings in the Cité district for over a century. It is said that Anne Hidalgo had long considered the place to be “a bit dead”, in contrast to the youthful, sporty, and festive vitality she dreams of awakening throughout the capital. She even sponsored a project, along with François Hollande, entrusted to architect Dominique Perrault, which planned to engulf the pavilions under a transparent dome to develop trendy activities, entertainment, fooding, etc. The fire at Notre-Dame providentially interrupted these fanciful ideas.
