Zimmermann has opened a second boutique in Paris, located on one of the largest luxury shopping streets in Europe: Faubourg Saint-Honoré. The new French boutique of Zimmermann, the Australian brand currently in the spotlight, is situated right across from the British embassy, at 46 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, on the corner of Rue d’Anjou. It is nestled in an elegant pre-war building, allowing Zimmermann to be in close proximity to luxury houses such as Hermès, Chanel, Saint Laurent, Lanvin, and Burberry, all of which have large boutiques within 100 meters.
“We are experiencing an exciting period in Paris and we are thrilled to open our new boutique on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. For this project, we wanted our customers to feel in a truly unique environment, reflecting the essence of our brand while maintaining a privileged connection with its surroundings,” said Nicky Zimmermann, founder and artistic director, in a statement. The multi-level commercial space, which was previously occupied by Salvatore Ferragamo, is also close to the brand’s European headquarters and was designed in collaboration with Studio McQualter.
The new store, covering over 288 square meters, joins the brand’s sixty existing boutiques worldwide. The space has been designed to create a sense of warmth and positivity, according to the brand. Like its sister store on Rue François 1er, the exterior has been lightened and made more accessible with its metal-framed windows, paired with characteristic cream fabric awnings and twisted iron supports.
The ground floor features plaster walls, Palladiana marble flooring, garment racks, reclaimed wood showcases, and modernist furniture such as Daniel Elm wooden armchairs, art deco side tables, and a unique 1970s wood and glass round table by Nerone Y Patuzzi. A precast concrete staircase leads to the second floor, where the different collections are displayed, separated by galvanized metal and glass doors, with a large red lacquered Chinese screen turned into a wardrobe as the centerpiece.
The boutique expresses a unique mix of Australian optimism, southern hemisphere carefreeness, artistic ingenuity, and a touch of bohemian flair that characterizes Zimmermann. This eclectic layout includes Philippe Barbier table lamps, mid-century metal wall sconces, an Akari floor lamp, a 1950s Italian chandelier, custom-designed striped Kilim rugs, Bauhaus armchairs, and double-sided light curtains by Jim Thompson, complemented by artwork such as a mural above the staircase by Alistair McLuckie, modernist vases by Nelly Yassef or Herman Kahler, and paintings by Australian artists like Troy Emery.
The Parisian boutique of Zimmermann opened its doors with the Fall 2023 collection, presented in October during Paris Fashion Week, where the brand has been showcasing for several years. The Resort ’24 and Resort Swim ’24 collections, with recently unveiled campaigns featuring Barbara Valente and Malika El Maslouhi, are also on display.
