The small joys of December in Paris

Less than twenty days before Christmas! And to keep busy until then, we have noted ten events that will keep us waiting!

We stroll through the Christmas Village

Hop: put on your down jacket, head to the forecourt of the Town Hall for a taste of the holidays in the mountains. XXL sledding track, Santa’s office, Parisian designer chalets, vintage carousel, and delicious smell of hot chocolate: until December 31, that’s where you’ll find us! Especially since the entrance and most of the activities are free!

We track down clever elves

From December 9, elves will hack the website and the Instagram account @quefaireaparis to hide clues. The goal? Reconstruct a sentence to hope to win one of the ten prizes at stake: shows in gold, museum catalogs, annual passes to the Louxor, snack at the Eiffel Tower, tickets for the next edition of We Love Green, concert tickets to the Philharmonie, etc. Keep an eye out!

We immerse ourselves in African-American music culture

At the 13th Art, a time capsule offers to travel through African-American music culture. The Black Legends show will make us sing and dance to soul, disco, funk, and R’n’B. Each scene stages a piece of black music history: from Cab Calloway to Beyoncé, through Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Otis Redding, or Donna Summer. In short: a musical comedy rich in lessons… and good mood!

We taste the best pastries in Paris

A few weeks ago, the Grand Prix de la Pâtisserie took place, rewarding the most beautiful desserts of professional pastry chefs in Paris. The result: sweets with surprising flavor combinations but above all, aesthetic work that makes the mouth water. To be devoured without delay!

We fall for Australian acrobats

Gravity & Other Myths is an Australian company that turns acrobatics into aerial poetry. The troupe will be in Paris, Parc de la Villette (19th), for a dozen performances where each artist will push the limits of gravity. A show that promises to take your breath away!

We are passionate about the Conciergerie

The Révolution Parcours, do you know them? These are visits that lift the veil on the Paris of the Revolution in sixteen different neighborhoods. You can meet great historical figures, founding places, and discover a thousand and one anecdotes. Even more reason not to miss the last guided (and free) tour dedicated to the Conciergerie, with guest star: Olympe de Gouges.

We put glitter in our lives

Finally lights! For its 2023 edition, the National Museum of Natural History offers a walk in the footsteps of animals inhabiting tropical rainforests. Formidable felines, astonishing frogs, giant flowers, and other wonders are transformed into luminous structures to invite reverie. A beautiful way to raise awareness of the protection of this animal heritage.

We fall back into childhood

Grandparents, parents, uncles, aunts, and grown-ups: you won’t want to miss the new edition of the Flip Flap festival at the Théâtre de l’Etoile du Nord (18th). Until December 21, several dance performances will come to touch, enchant, and entertain all curious minds from the age of three.

We admire Haussmann’s work

The cycle of events dedicated to Baron Haussmann is coming to an end. Until January 8, 2024, a free exhibition retraces his major emblematic projects, mainly commissioned by a certain Napoleon III. Stations, hospitals, theaters, avenues, underground networks: with this retrospective, you will know everything about the man who further modernized Paris.

We don’t miss the New Year’s Eve party

We don’t want to spoil the party too much but you won’t want to miss what Paris is preparing to say goodbye to 2023 and welcome 2024 properly. On the Champs-Elysées, the atmosphere promises to be wildly joyful. The entrance will be free, will you come?
