DxO has launched PureRaw 3, a utility for sharpening and correcting raw files prior to importing them into raw processors such as Adobe Lightroom. Alternatively, PureRaw 3 can be used as a plugin in Lightroom Classic to convert raw files, with the converted and optimised DNG files automatically appearing in the Lightroom catalog on completion. The utility also brings a new AI-supported noise reduction method, DeepPrime XD, which DxO claims is designed to remove image noise with the equivalent of 2.5 extra f-stops without sacrificing image details. An integrated batch processing feature provides a range of parameters and methods to choose from, while profiles of camera-lens combinations are updated on a monthly basis from laboratory-measured values. PureRaw 3 is available now for Windows and macOS, priced at €129 (roughly $153), with an upgrade option at €79.
