Peloton has announced a new focus on software rather than hardware as it seeks to expand its customer base. The connected fitness specialist aims to position itself as a provider of personalised fitness offerings, including instructions for gym equipment, and is developing training programmes in partnership with gym chains and outfitters. The company is also seeking closer co-operation with hotels and offering its app for use in fitness studios. Peloton is launching a range of pricing plans for its streaming app, which will separate the use of its app from the purchase of its hardware, allowing users to access new content for a fee.
