Lyon Dominates Paris FC with a Set in D1 Arkéma Match

Paris FC suffered a heavy 6-1 defeat against Olympique Lyonnais in a top-of-the-table clash in the D1 Arkema. Lyon’s key players, Eugénie Le Sommer and Ada Hegerberg, were instrumental in their team’s dominant performance. Le Sommer opened the scoring with a stunning sombrero and volley goal just one minute into the game. Paris FC’s Julie Dufour equalized in the 29th minute, but Lyon quickly regained control with two goals in two minutes from Hegerberg and Le Sommer.

Le Sommer’s second goal made her the top scorer in the 21st century in the French league. Hegerberg also found the net with assistance from Kadidiatou Diani to extend Lyon’s lead to 4-1. Paris FC hit the woodwork multiple times but couldn’t find a way back into the game. Lyon’s Sara Däbritz scored into an empty net, and Diani added their sixth goal with a header from a corner in the final minutes. The victory sees Lyon take the lead in the league, leaving Paris FC three points behind.

The women’s team continues to shine for Olympique Lyonnais, giving hope to the club after their men’s team’s struggles.
