Landin Smashes a Wild Record in the Battle with Foxes at Kiel

Kiel against the foxes: Landin breaks a crazy record

THW Kiel Regains Bundesliga Lead with Outstanding Victory

THW Kiel, the record champion with 19 titles, has successfully recaptured the lead in the Bundesliga handball league. The Kielers defeated the foxes 36-29 in a fiercely competitive match, with the strong Kiel keeper, Niklas Landin, emerging as a guarantee of success.

The Danish world champion was in top form and proved that he is one of the best in the league, having made 23 saves and setting a personal career record. Even Landin was surprised at his remarkable performance in the game.

Speaking to Sky, Landin said, “We missed such games, with such a great outcome for us. The two points make me happier than my saves. I admit I’ve never counted in 11 years in the Bundesliga.”

The foxes played well in the game and were only three goals behind until the 45th minute (24-27). However, they could not keep up with Kiel’s momentum and made too many mistakes. National player Fabian Wiede was impressed with Landin’s performance and admitted that he was a size too big for them that day.

Foxes sports director Stefan Kretzschmar added, “If you score 29 goals and Landin still has 23 saves, that’s not a bad thing to do on offense. But if the best goalkeeper in the world also breaks his own record, then it’s going to be tight for us.”

Although the game was billed as a duel between the superstars, Sander Sagosen and Mathias Gidsel, Landin managed to steal the show from everyone. It’s unfortunate that handball fans will miss Landin as he is leaving the Bundesliga after this season to return home to Aalborg.

All in all, it was another fantastic victory for THW Kiel as they continue to dominate the Bundesliga handball league.
