In the municipality of Tangamandapio, Michoacan, a subject tied a dog to a chain, tied it to the back of a truck and dragged it for several meters, causing burns and serious injuries to the dog, which finally caused his death. The person in charge was released after paying 500 pesos.
This reprehensible event happened on Sunday, October 10, according to animal protection organizations, without anyone intervening to defend the dog and without any reason that is worth the person who committed this act of animal cruelty.
For Patitas World, a woman identified as Diana confessed the following: “The situation of violence in this area is serious and daily acts of cruelty are seen in society (…) due to the wounds that the little dog suffered, it had to be euthanized.”
While the person in charge is accused of only giving 500 pesos to the authorities to be exempted from all responsibility. According to unofficial reports, the person was in a drunken state when he dragged the dog.
Last Tuesday, October 12, the Michoacán Attorney General’s Office received a complaint for this act of animal abuse, so the case was referred to the Zamora Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a unit that will work in coordination with the Unit for Investigation and Persecution of the Crime of Animal Abuse.
Under the hashtag #JusticiaParaBoby, users of social networks have expressed their outrage at this fact, in addition to demanding a just penalty against the subject who maliciously assaulted the dog.
Also in Twitter, the profile Animal Heroes asked that the man he tied up and ultimately ended Boby’s life be given prison. The people summoned a march on Sunday, October 17, at the edge of 5:00 p.m., to demand justice.
