This Thursday, during the big PFL Paris event, Frenchman Mickaël Groguhe was knocked out by his opponent Islem Masraf in 12 seconds, due to a very nonchalant attitude. On social media, the main person involved apologized for his behavior that earned him numerous criticisms.
The splinter in Cédric Doumbè’s foot during his fight against Baysangur “Baki” Chamsoudinov was not the only striking image in the PFL Paris event this Thursday. Before this main event, the fight between Mickaël Groguhe and Islem Masraf caused a lot of reactions. And for good reason, the former arrived in the ring with a very relaxed air. Approaching his opponent without any guard, Groguhe immediately took a high kick, and two straight hits that knocked him out in 12 seconds.
A very surprising nonchalant attitude, but yet usual for Groguhe, who still took to social media to apologize: “I would like to first apologize for my behavior on Thursday. I have a habit of being nonchalant, it’s true, but this time I was extreme. I acted too cocky, I underestimated him and immediately faced the consequences. I wish to apologize to all the people who support me, who train me.”
“I messed up”
Clearly frustrated for not taking Islem Masraf more seriously, Groguhe has promised to come back stronger and not make this kind of mistake again.
“Yesterday I messed up. I’m disgusted, frustrated, I couldn’t express myself,” Mickaël Groguhe assured. “I will go back to work right away, come back stronger, keep knocking people out, keep fighting. I will change my behavior. I thank my opponent, congratulations to him.”
After confidently winning his match, Masraf still wanted to defend his opponent on his social media account X (formerly Twitter): “I would like to address my opponent’s attitude. Know that it is his boxing style, and he did not disrespect me, just look at his previous fights. He has always behaved like this and it has always worked, except that yesterday our game plan was clean.”
During an interview transcribed by MMA Propaganda, the French fighter assures that Groguhe’s nonchalant attitude was “planned”. “We watched some fights, we saw that it was always the same thing, hands down, the guy calm knowing he hits hard,” analyzed the winner of the duel at PFL Paris.
