Google is set to release a new tablet that bears a striking resemblance to the Pixel phone. Called the Pixel Tablet, this new device runs on Android and features a diagonal of 11 inches in a 16:10 format, with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels. Stereo sound is provided thanks to four speakers, and the tablet is equipped with three near-field microphones to facilitate video conferencing.
The Pixel Tablet is powered by the Tensor G2 SoC, an 8-core CPU that is also used in Pixel smartphones. This makes it capable of running games and 4K videos. Additionally, the device has 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash memory, as well as the Mali-G710 graphics unit. As the first tablet with a built-in Chromecast, it is sure to impress.
The included dock turns the Pixel Tablet into a smart display with a surface similar to those of smart displays from Google subsidiary Nest. It can also function as an audio and video player and even has a more voluminous loudspeaker in the base of the dock, promising richer bass.
The Pixel Tablet’s battery has a capacity of 27 watt hours and can last for up to 12 hours of video streaming. It can be charged via the USB-C socket or through the dock, which is also included in the package.
The tablet will be launched on June 20th, with a price tag of 680 euros. If multiple docks are required, users can purchase them separately for 150 euros each. A suitable protective cover is also available for 100 euros. This cover features a fold-out metal ring on the back to serve as a stand when the device is not in the dock.
Overall, the Pixel Tablet is an exciting new addition to the range of devices that Google has on offer. With its impressive features and capabilities, it is certainly worth considering for anyone in the market for a new tablet.
