They made the trip to defend their colors and those of Périgord at the Agricultural Fair, which begins this Saturday, February 24, at Porte de Versailles in Paris. Le Moulin des Cépages, a company from Saint-Pierre-d’Eyraud, will sell its flavored vinegars on the spot.

At Noix Patient, from Grange d’Ans, will offer for sale its oils, cakes, and confectionery. Finally, the artisanal brewery from Sarlat, which is also participating in the general competition, will let enthusiasts taste its beers.
The products of Périgord at the General Agricultural Competition
Another highlight of the fair is the General Agricultural Competition, which distinguishes the best products. 37 candidates from Périgord will compete in 215 categories. As for wine, 161 samples will be judged in the final round. There were 265 at the start, in categories such as Bergerac, Côtes de Bergerac, IGP Périgord, Monbazillac, Montravel, Côtes de Montravel, Pécharmant, and Rosette.
Animals in the spotlight
As every year, breeders from Périgord participate in various competitions. Romuald Brault, a breeder from Saint-Pierre-de-Frugie, is presenting his Holstein cow O21 this year.
Another Holstein cow will try to make a name for itself, Mag Siza, a two and a half-year-old cow raised by Hélène Léon and Yohan, breeders from Mialet in Périgord Vert. Coming from Saint-Félix-de-Villadeix, Arnaud Bourgeois from Domaine de La Valette is making the trip this year with Idole, a Bordeaux cow. Finally, the “Les Bergers des 1001 Nuits” farm from Ponteyraux is going to Paris with three of its dogs. Sonata and Glitter&Gold, two Bearded Collie females, and Voodoo Magic, a Berger de Brie female.
Agricultural school La Peyrouse is present
Finally, students in terminal and BTS at the La Peyrouse agricultural school in Coulounieix-Chamiers will participate on Thursday in the International Trophy of Agricultural Education.
