A 19-year-old student sexually assaulted in broad daylight in Paris, a complaint filed

The incident took place on Wednesday, February 28th. A 19-year-old woman was sexually assaulted as she was exiting the RER at the Rosa-Parks station in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, as reported by Le Figaro. She was on her way to school when she noticed a man dressed in black following her, getting closer and closer. When he reached her, the man grabbed her arm and pinned her against a wall. He then touched her buttocks and chest before trying to remove her coat.

The student no longer wants to return to the Rosa-Parks neighborhood.

The victim managed to struggle and flee by running. “The suspect could be homeless or a drug addict,” reveals a source close to the case, also according to our colleagues. The Rosa-Parks neighborhood, located between Porte de la Chapelle and Aubervilliers, is known for housing many drug addicts, especially around schools. The young woman does not want to set foot in this neighborhood anymore. She has decided to file a complaint at the police station.

According to the gendarmerie and police services, 114,100 complaints for sexual violence were recorded in France, for crimes, rapes, or offenses, including some sexual assaults like sexual assault, sexual harassment, or exhibitionism. This is a 7% increase compared to the previous year. More than half of the complainants were minors at the time of filing the complaint (57%).
