He took the time to “digest” the incident before speaking about it. On stage in New York, Chris Rock returned to the slap in the face of Will Smith at the Oscars.

Chris Rock’s reaction was expected. Five months after the Oscars, the comedian returned to the slap he received from the hand of Will Smith in the middle of the ceremony. A speech made on stage during his show at Madison Square Garden in New York on Saturday July 23.

According to ‘Entertainment Tonight’ sources, the 57-year-old comedian said on stage, “Anyone who says words hurt has never been punched in the face.” Currently on tour with Kevin Hart, Chris Rock went on to assure his fans that he is not “a victim”. “That shit hurt me, motherfucker,” he added. “But I got rid of that shit and went to work the next day. I don’t go to the hospital for a paper cut”.

Shortly after the incident, he hinted that he would discuss the slap in detail, but later. “I’m still digesting what happened. So at some point, I’ll talk about this shit, and it’ll be serious and funny.”

As a reminder, Will Smith slapped Chris Rock on the stage of the 94th Academy Awards after a bad joke about the shaved head of Jada Pinkett Smith, his wife who suffers from alopecia. “Leave my wife’s name out of your fucking mouth!” Will Smith told him, in front of a flabbergasted audience of stars, just before receiving the Oscar for Best Actor for the film “The Williams Method”.

Will Smith has been keeping a low profile since the Academy Awards condemned the move. As a result of his actions, the 53-year-old American actor was banned from performing for ten years.
