Rapper Mister You was arrested last week at Orly airport and imprisoned as part of the execution of the sentence of 24 months in flexible prison to which he had been sentenced in 2021, AFP learned from of his lawyer, confirming information from the newspaper “Le Parisien”. In March 2021, the 38-year-old rapper was sentenced on appeal in Paris to 24 months in prison for having promoted in 2019 on social networks a major deal point in the Parisian suburbs, the Caliweed network.
However, according to the defense of the rapper, the latter did not receive a letter concerning the adjustment of his sentence, which was therefore executed. “The 24-month sentence pronounced by the Paris Court of Appeal on March 9, 2021 was implemented on Thursday July 21 (2022)”, confirmed the Créteil prosecution to AFP.
Mister You, Younes Latifi of his real name, was therefore arrested while he was taking the plane to go to Morocco. “The execution of this sentence without prior summons is procedural madness, and a shame on a human level in a context where my principal saw the birth of his twins three weeks ago”, reacted to AFP his lawyer , Me Robin Binsard. A sentence adjustment hearing will be held on September 21 in Paris, he added.
Rapper whose clips now record tens of millions of views on YouTube, Mister You, originally from the Belleville district of Paris, notably made himself known to the general public at the end of the 2000s by publishing music while he was on the run in a drug trafficking case.
