Lily-Rose Depp and The Weeknd on the poster for “The Idol”, the stars uninhibited for the series

Lily-Rose Depp and The Weeknd will co-star in ‘The Idol’, a new series from the ‘sick and twisted’ mind of Sam Levinson.

Lily-Rose Depp and The Weeknd have a common project. The 23-year-old actress and 32-year-old musician will star in “The Idol,” an HBO-produced series directed by “Euphoria” creator Sam Levinson.

A first trailer was shared on July 18, 2022 by the American channel, revealing part of the plot. The teaser, where images of drugs, sex and alcohol follow one another, echoes the very dark universe of the series which unveiled Zendaya, Maude Apatow, Sydney Sweeley, Alexa Demie and Jacob Elordi.

‘The Idol’ bills itself as ‘the most sordid love story in all of Hollywood’, emanating from the director’s ‘sick and twisted’ mind. The programs produced by HBO are most often broadcast in France via OCS but no official broadcaster has been announced to date. The release date of the six episodes remains secret but this first “trailer” indicates an “upcoming” release of the first season.
