The world of comics is in mourning after confirming that the cartoonist George Pérez passed away on Friday, May 6 after struggling for some years with a terrible disease. The artist gained a good reputation for his works, mainly in the company of DC Comics.
At 67 years of age, the cartoonist leaves an important void in all the fans of comics around the world, who will remember his works in “Justice League of America”, “Crisis on Infinite Earths”, among others.
WHAT DID GEORGE PÉREZ DIE OF?
The cartoonist died at home, accompanied by his relatives and without any pain, as revealed by a very close friend. As we will remember, in 2021 he himself announced that he had been detected with pancreatic cancer.
By that date of the announcement of his illness, Pérez had already retired because in 2019 some problems with his vision intensified and he could not continue drawing normally.
Despite this, during the last years of his life he decided to take time for his fans and attended every convention he could to give more details about his work in comics.
