Several years have passed since the release of Genshin Impact, the role-playing game free-to-play (free but with microtransactions) developed by the Chinese studio miHoYo. Although the title was announced for Nintendo Switch some time ago, the developer has maintained a deathly silence about this version. Nothing is known about its possible release date, to the point that some had speculated that the game had been cancelled. Doesn’t seem to be the case, as posted GO Nintendo in exclusive.
Xin Yang, head of communication at miHoYo, has ensured that the Nintendo Switch version continues. In addition, it has hinted that there will be more information in the future. “The Switch version is still in development, we will share more information as we continue to make progress,” she stated.
The good news is that the game hasn’t been cancelled, the bad news is that the studio hasn’t provided any additional information. The truth is that the concerns of the fans were justified to a certain extent. miHoYo herself removed any mention of the Switch version of the YouTube descriptions, although later they added them back.
Update 2.7 is delayed
The delay of version 2.7 has caused miHoYo to carry out several events that were not initially planned, as we published in MeriStation. In a public message on social networks, the Chinese company has argued that “for reasons related to the current project progress”, the next patch is postponed until further notice. “We are sorry for the inconvenience. We appreciate your continued support and understanding.”
Genshin Impact is currently available on PS4, PS5, PC, and iOS and Android mobile devices. At the moment the only announced version that has not gone on sale is that of Nintendo Switch, since It will not come out on Xbox One or Xbox Series X and Xbox Series Sexcept last minute surprise.
