Nicolás Jaar announces free meeting: Other People will support emerging musicians in America

Under the name of BARKINGthe stamp Other Peopletogether with Fissurewill launch an initiative that will be divided into music production workshops, interdisciplinary talks, financial support and a live performance at Santiago de Chile.

The project will be aimed at all those musicians who live in the American continent (from Chili a Canada) and may apply from April 26, at 09:00 a.m., until June 14, at 11:59 p.m.

The first edition (2022) of the meeting will focus on the question: what does it mean to be from here? The question will seek to challenge the applicants to reflect on what constitutes us as subjects who coexist and relate to each other on the American continent.

The initiative will be divided into different stages: the selected ones will participate in music and critical thinking workshops. These will take place between October and November of this year.

Besides, BARKING will have a physical meeting that will summon the 8 selected and will take place in Santiago de Chile, in November 2022.

“The name of the meeting is a metaphor that seeks to gather thoughts and ideas, around communication, where barking, understood as noise and language, warns and breaks”, explains the organizing team.
